iTunes users are accustomed to renting movies through their database, in which for a minimal price, you can view all the latest TV episodes streamed to your HDTV. However, it seems Apple has pulled the plug on their TV rental services, which leaves Apple customers, the option to purchase per episodes only.
According to an insider’s source, it seems Apple is working on a next generation technology, which will deliver video to televisions. Also, Apple might be threading the subscription TV service too, which has uncanny resemblance to Google’s offerings. Apparently, the existing 99-cent rentals did not make a huge impact on consumers, which prompts that the video rental model might not be a viable business method for Apple. Perhaps we’ll be prompted to pay more in the near future in order to watch new TV episodes on Apple TV?
