I find locked phones to be an utter nuisance, as clearly, the locked feature would bound you to a specific telco provider in the area. Nevertheless, if you are searching for ways to unlock your Samsung Galaxy S, perhaps you should do a closer inspection on your smartphone instead.
Basically, Dagentooboy of XDA-Developers has recently discovered that the Galaxy S unlock codes aren’t kept in some extremely secure remote server, but it seems that the unlock codes are found inside the Galaxy S itself. Basically, users need to search for a .BAK file on their smartphone, and edit the values inside with a hex editor in order to change the commands to recognize a new SIM card of your choice.
But seriously, nobody really knows how to use a hex editor right?
