Graphene can be touted as a sci-fi material, whereby graphene has gained the limelight recently, over the material’s ability to be used as microprocessor. And lately, researchers have reached yet another breakthrough with graphene, whereby apparently, graphene also has the ability to store tremendous amount of energy too.
Basically, graphene can be further adapted to become electrodes for ultra-capacitors. Also, research data shows that the graphene electrodes have the ability to store up to 5x energy storage, as compared to conventional capacitors. Surely, such promising results could mean a breakthrough in batteries, whereby perhaps capacitors could substitute li-ion cells in the future as the mainstream energy storage device?
