Intel 8-core Nehalem-EX Processors PDF Print E-mail

Just when you thought that having a 4-core processor at home is pretty magnificent – think again. It seems Intel has made progress today, whereby the gigantic microprocessor manufacturer has disclosed that they will be launching their next-generation 8-core Nehalem-EX processors for the market, in March, which is this month.

Generally, Intel has strapped 8-core into their latest processors, and these microprocessor units will come with 24MB of shared cache. There are quad-channel memory controllers as well, and these processors will also come with the latest Turbo Boost technology too. And with the processor’s capability to scale up to eight sockets, this means that you can have up to 64 processing cores inside your machine, which I think is pretty extreme.
