For those who have been keeping track on the latest developments over the National Ignition Facility news, it seems that the facility has yet again achieved another milestone achievement – by successfully testing their very first megajoule laser. Generally, the National Ignition Facility is on track to research on future clean energy source, whereby their laser can create sufficient amount of x-ray that will enable hydrogen to fuse, which creates something called the fusion reactor.
Personally, I think that this particular facility might be the very first facility in the world that might uncover the secrets of a fusion reactor – a sci-fi reactor that creates so much energy cheaply. On the other hand, it might also create the world’s biggest catastrophic disaster, simply by creating a miniature sun on earth?
