I’m pretty sure that the materialistic world will have you spend tons of money purchasing expensive software that you will need in order to access certain types of files. Generally, if you hate the materialistic world, perhaps you should try supporting the Open-PC project, whereby this particular PC is actually a nettop which will be free from any commercial software. Of course, the Open-PC comes with a collection of free software in which you can use, and it is actually designed by the community, whereby the specifications and price was determined by a set of surveys.
Well if you love such PCs, perhaps you should support the project, simply by purchasing the Open-PC for €359. And as part of your donations, $10 will be channeled to the KDE project.
Personally, I think that the price to purchase the Open-PC is pretty steep – afterall, the machine is powered by just an Atom N330 processor, with 3GB of RAM and 160GB hard drive – all the basic stuffs.
